Summary of LTER requirements for processing

Data analysis and processing is done based on specific scientific questions. Data analysis is done by the different research communities applying a wide range of methods and statistics. The application of pre-defined models (e.g. LAndscapeDNDC) as well as statistical software (e.g. R, Statistica, MathLab) is steered by the scientific questions and the needs of the analysis. Data from the research sites are often combined with other large scale data. Even workflow engines are applied sometimes automating the analysis process.

This is a subject which needs to be discussed in the future of the LTER Europe Research Infrastructure and network.
